The new official Download festival website has been launched, and with it a few bands have been confirmed, namely Australian rockers AC/DC!
Them Crooked Vultures, Deftones, Stone Temple Pilots, Bullet For My Valentine, Megadeth, Motörhead, Wolfmother and Volbeat have also all been confirmed by the organisers, with many more to come in the next few coming months.

The rumours of AC/DC playing this years Download festival look particularly strong this year, and they only continue to gain strength as time passes, and the weekend gets closer.
There have now been several leaks across the internet, all suggesting that the band have confirmed their place.
Again, like the Metallica Rumour the band confirmed the gig on their official website only to take it down again days later.
Its all hotting up!

Talking to Metal Hammer recently, Download Festival organiser Andy Copping said he'd "be a fool not to expand of the Classic Rock stage" idea.
He also said that he was sceptical about whether bands such as AC/DC, Alice Cooper, Metallica, Van Halen and Aerosmith would play Download Festival 2010, he would aim to talk to all of them.

He also added that he wasn’t worried by any other festivals entering the summer metal festival market – especially after the success of 2009.
AC/DC are looking increasingly likely to play Download Festival 2010.
The band are currently leaking European tour dates all over the web with the following being suggested:
8th June 2010 - Olympic Stadium, Turin
9th June 2010 - Olympic Stadium, Turin
Note:(12th // 14th June 2010 - Download Festival!)
19th June 2010 - Stade de France, France
Fingers crossed they will be coming over to the UK for Download Festival 2010.
