Download is working hard to reduce the amount of litter and waste that is left at the site every year. One of the ways they are going to combat this problem this year, is to promote recyclable tents to you.
Taken from the official website:
"One of our biggest problems we face during this daunting operation is removing piles and piles of camping equipment, including tents, sleeping bags, ground mats and more – and a huge majority of it all goes straight in to land fill, clogging up the environment. Not very nice.
The good news is that finally some bright spark has come up with something very special in the camping world – the recyclable tent! (what took them so long?!) "

Would you like your band to play at Download festival 2010? Well Download organisers (in association with Red Bull) are giving you the chance to get up and entertain the masses this year with an Emerging Talent Competition.
As well as a slot at Download, recording sessions at Red Bull’s brand new HQ are also on the table plus a UK wide tour in support of a major act.
However you will need to impress the panel of judges, which this year will not only include Charlie Simpson of Fightstar but also Andy Copping, Vice President of Music at Live Nation, and Beckie Sugden from The Agency if you want to stand a chance of doing any of these things.

Download festival organisers have confirmed that flags will be banned from the main arena this year, due to an overwhelming number of complaints in 2009.
The following news was posted on the official Download festival forum yesterday evening.
"Due to an overwhelming number of complaints from people and now we have had chance to view the footage from previous years and can see what everyone means (and not see the acts on stage!), we will be banning flags on sticks in the main arena.
“Hope you all understand that this is to ensure that everyone can enjoy what’s on stage.”

I searched all over the forum but I'm sorry, I couldn't actually find a direct link, so it must be hiding somewhere.
